Thing #7

One of the tools that immediately caught my attention was the Google Calendar. I immediately started a personal and professional calendar. I plan to invite the teachers and administrators to my professional calendar, so that all will know when I will be available for them in the library.

I also played arounf a lot with the Google Earth tool. This tool would be awesome in the classroom to teach Geography. Also the Google Sky tool would be great for teaching astronomy.

Thing #6

I really had fun wth this mashup site. I liked the Color Pickrs the most. I had so much fun with it that I decided to post one of my creations.

Flickr can be very useful in the library and classroom setting, because it allows the use of many pictures with limited copyright. Students and teachers can use the pictures for many different projects. I have already used a picture I found in a PowerPoint presentation I am giving on Copyright.

Thing #5

By: Tom@HK

I found this picture on Flickr, and I loved it! It's titled "Curiosity..... what are they reading? "

Thing # 4

Well, I believe I registered my blog.

Thing # 3

Okay....Creating this blog seemed easy enough. I went home the day I found out about this project and immediately started on my Avitar (It was really fun!). I soon after got on Blogger and created my blog. This did not take long and it was actually enjoyable. The only downside (and you would already know this about me if you read my previous post) is that I have a issue with "beginning with the end in mind". So anyway it's two weeks after the actual creation of my blog and I am finally posting to it. But, I have a new resolve to work with the end in mind, so stay tuned for more (hopefully sooner than later).

Thing #2 71/2 Habits

In reading the 7 1/2 habits you would think that they are common sense, but in actuality you have to think about these things and do them purposefully until they become "habits"

"Begin with the end in mind." This seems easier than done. For example, I started this blog two weeks ago and I am now beginning once again with the end in mind. Of the 7 1/2 habits, this one is probably the hardest for me. I start off with everything really excited with great ideas in my head, but I think I lose sight of "the end". All of a sudden all I can see is an endless list of things to do. Though this may be the hardest for me to implement, I know it will be one of the most beneficial. When I do have "the end in sight" mindset I am much more efficient, and less likely to procrastinate.

"Teach and mentor others." This will be the easiest habit for me because I love to mentor and teach others. I enjoy knowing that I am helping others, and I feel that it comes naturally to me.
